San Diego Opera’s performances take place at the Civic Theatre, at the intersection of Third Avenue and B Street in downtown San Diego.

Arriving By Car:

From North of Downtown – Take HWY 5 south to the Civic Center/Front Street exit. Exit and remain in the left lane, taking the Second Avenue fork. At the end of the exit, turn right onto Second Avenue and continue straight for two blocks to the San Diego Concourse/Civic Center Plaza parking garage directly ahead.

From South of Downtown – Take Hwy 5 north to the Center City/B Street exit. Take B Street left/west. Continue to Third Avenue; turn right, then immediately turn left into the San Diego Concourse parking garage.

 

Parking:

San Diego Concourse and Civic Center Plaza parking garages are adjacent to the theatre and Event Fees start at $10 on performance nights (subject to change). A number of surface lots are also located within a 4 block radius of the theatre.

  2. ACE Parking Lot - Entrances on A, Ash, 2nd and 3rd Streets
  3. ACE Parking Lot - Entrance on 3rd Street

  6. Bravissimo Patron Parking - 1200 B Street (Underground) - Entrance at A & 2nd
 

Taking The Train or Trolley:

San Diego Trolley
The Trolley stops just behind the Civic Theatre. The Coaster stops at Santa Fe Station, just 5 blocks away and connects with the Trolley (with free transfers). Amtrak
Ride in luxury to Santa Fe Station, just blocks away from the Civic Theatre. Amtrak Pacific Surfliner® runs 11 roundtrips a day from Los Angeles and points in between. The last trains leave San Diego at 9:15pm.

 

Riding San Diego Opera Caravan:

Join The “CarFree” crowd! The Opera Caravan is an exclusive motor coach service from North County to San Diego Opera. Board the coach at one of our convenient pick-up locations and ride to the opera in comfort as you chat with fellow opera lovers or watch an episode of OperaTalk on the coach’s television.

A Great Deal!
Ride from Carlsbad and pay only $20 per person, round-trip for each opera, in addition to your opera ticket. It sure beats paying for gas, mileage, parking and aspirin for the traffic headaches. (Pricing varies for other Caravans.)

2008 North County Opera Caravans
An Opera Caravan Coach will depart from the Carlsbad Library on Dove Lane to each of San Diego Opera’s Wednesday and Sunday performances. New for 2008, Opera Caravan is available from Rancho Bernardo (pick up location TBA) for select Sunday performances.
